About Gerçek Dorman

Born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1981, Gerçek Dorman's journey in the world of music began at an early age. His passion for rhythm led him to the drum kit during high school in Ankara, where he embarked on a musical odyssey that would take him to remarkable heights.

Dedication to Drumming

Gerçek honed his drumming skills through extensive training with local drummers renowned in Ankara and across Turkey. Recognizing his potential, he became one of the pioneering students when Berklee Online introduced its groundbreaking drum courses. This inaugural class would lay the foundation for his journey to excellence.

Under the tutelage of world-class instructors such as Jim Payne, Yoron Israel, and Rod Morgenstein, Gerçek refined his craft and expanded his horizons. His exceptional talent didn't go unnoticed, as he was invited to the United States for further lessons with Jim Payne, solidifying his place in the international drumming community.

Authorship and Endorsements

Gerçek's passion for music extended beyond performance. He authored a drum book a decade ago, which has since seen 11 successful editions. His expertise has earned him endorsements from renowned Turkish firms such as Zuhal Music, Istanbul Agop, Roland Turkey, and Akai Pro, as well as the esteemed Spanish cajon manufacturer, De Gregorio.

Drum Festival Pioneer

Driven by a desire to promote the art of drumming, Gerçek initiated two drum festivals in Ankara: the d52 Drum and Percussion Festival. These festivals featured 20 esteemed Turkish drummers, and the second installment expanded its reach to international participants, earning it universal acclaim.

Music Production and Education

Gerçek's thirst for knowledge led him to explore music production and technology. He completed courses from Berklee Online, specializing in Music Production and Composition, and Advanced Ableton Live under the mentorship of Denis de Santis.

Innovation in Sound

Gerçek further showcased his creativity by becoming the Product Manager and Sound Designer for Synthmaster Soft Synths. His innovative contributions reshaped the world of sound design.

BeatMakers Academy

In pursuit of nurturing the next generation of music creators, Gerçek founded BeatMakers Academy, where he imparts his knowledge of music production and composition to aspiring artists.

Today, Gerçek Dorman is a multifaceted artist. His live shows blend DJing and performances, featuring the dynamic sounds of organic house, indie dance, and melodic house. Beyond the stage, he continues to make his mark as a producer and musician, pushing the boundaries of musical innovation.
